CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) - The Philadelphia Phillies have plenty of question marks in the outfield.
Ben Revere doesn't plan on being one of them. The Phillies traded for the speedy 24-year-old centerfielder in the offseason, hoping he can provide a spark at the top of the veteran lineup.
Revere hit .294 with 40 stolen bases a year ago in Minnesota but found himself on the trading block as the rebuilding Twins looked to bolster their pitching staff. Revere says he didn't take the trade personally but was stunned when Philadelphia swooped in and picked him up in exchange for pitchers Vance Worley and Trevor May.
Revere's job will be to replace Shane Victorino, a fixture in Philadelphia's lineup for years before his trade to the Dodgers last summer. Revere says he's not intimidated by the pressure and expects to bat over .300 and score 100 runs this season.
