16-year old Sloan Cromwell has made the Dunbar Baseball team. She's the first female in Fayette County history to earn a spot on a high school baseball roster.
WKYT had the exclusive story about Sloan's journey. She has never played softball, only baseball. After being cut last year she made it this time around.
"She is good enough to compete on an every day level with her peers, so that's why she made it." said Dunbar Coach Seth Knight. "We looked at her in terms of her overall skills, her grade level, where we thought she fit on the ball club and it came down to looking at numbers and she deserved to make the baseball team."
