COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Coach Steve Spurrier says No. 6 South Carolina is better than Kentucky.

While the coach is obviously very confident, he says if the Gamecocks don't play better than the Wildcats on Saturday, Kentucky "can certainly beat us."

The ingredients appear to be there for a rout for South Carolina.

The Wildcats don't look any better than the team the Gamecocks beat 54-3 last season, and South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw's injured shoulder appears healed.

Shaw completed 20 straight passes to finish last week's 31-10 win over Missouri. The junior needs just five completions to start Saturday's game to pass former Tennessee QB Tee Martin's SEC record of 25 competitions. The Football Bowl Subdivision record is 36 completions by East Carolina's Dominique Davis.
