LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Former UK receiver Stevie Johnson faces surgery after tearing his right meniscus in the San Diego Chargers' training camp Sunday.
The extent of Johnson's injury and the timetable for his return will not be known until the procedure is performed. Coach Mike McCoy said the surgery will be sometime in the “next couple days.”
Johnson was heading into his second season with the Chargers. Because of a rash of injuries he has not played a full 16-game season since 2012 with Buffalo. Johnson played ten games last year for San Diego catching 45 passes, three went for touchdowns.
