LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The annual Governor's Cup Luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday in Louisville but UK coach Mark Stoops will not attend.
The game between the two rivals has now been moved to the end of the season, November 29. UK spokesman Tony Neely explained that with the game four months off, Stoops needed to spend time preparing for fall practice, recruiting and going over tapes.
UK said organizers of the Governor's Cup Luncheon had been aware that Stoops would not appear for months.
Stoops spent Monday in Bristol, Connecticut, taping interviews at ESPN. He is scheduled to speak to Lexington Rotary Thursday and the Greater Louisville UK Alumni Club kickoff luncheon Friday.
