UK coach Mark Stoops put his team on the practice field for the fifth time this spring and was not satisfied when it was over. He said it wasn't good enough.
Stoops said the offense did some good things. "Just an average practice today. I thought the offense again, picked it up, showed some urgency, did some good things offensively to start, it wasn't perfect. Defensively I thought we were very, very average at best. Very lacklsuter, just position on the football, sense of urgency wasn't there."
So much is new for the players, a new system and a new staff but Stoops said it's not a question of still adjusting. "Im not buying that, they know what's going on now. Now it gets back to habits. Now it gets back to this is day five, Monday morning, I'm going to go back to my old ways and just b.s. around and mill around for a few periods, and then we'll play a little bit. It's not good enough, it's not acceptable."
Stoops agreed that his players were given an introduction to the "angry Stoops" this morning. He said he'll them the truth. "I try to be positive, I tell them the turth and I'm always going to tell them the truth. There's not games with me, where today's on my calender to get after them, that's not it. If they need getting after, if they need it, then they're going to get it."
Stoops said he plans to open a practice to the media this week and he'll open a practice to the public in the near future.
