CBS Sports - A source close to Charlie Strong, with direct knowledge of the situation, told CBSSports.com's Jeremy Fowler that Strong will accept the Texas job on Sunday.
Reports first began to surface that Strong was Texas' choice on Friday, but Strong wanted to wait until he could talk to Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich personally. Jurich is in Colorado and has not been able to travel back to Louisville due to the weather.
Both UCLA's Jim Mora and Baylor's Art Briles withdrew their names from consideration from the job on Friday hours before the Strong reports broke.
In his four seasons at Louisville Strong's teams have gone 37-15 -- 23-3 the last two seasons -- with two conference titles and a 3-1 record in bowl games, including a Sugar Bowl win over Florida following the 2012 season.
