KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A trio of Mid-South Conference teams are ranked and two other conference teams are receiving votes in the latest NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Coaches' Top-25 Poll, released on Monday by NAIA officials.
Lindsey Wilson College leads the MSC teams at No. 8. The Blue Raiders (15-6) received 235 voting points from the national raters and remained eighth for a second straight week despite falling twice last week on the road in conference play.
Georgetown College (17-5) fell eight spots to No. 12 after two losses on the road last week as well. The Tigers received 205 voting points in the poll.
University of Pikeville (14-7) jumped three spots to No. 20 after winning twice at home last week, including beating No. 8 Lindsey Wilson 71-70. The Bears received 119 voting points.
St. Catharine College (10-8) and Campbellsville University (15-7) each received votes and sit just outside the Top-25. The Patriots (20 voting points) and the Tigers (4) each won at home last week over then No.4-ranked Georgetown and Shawnee State University.
Shorter (Ga.) University (21-0) remains in the top spot for a third straight week after receiving 312 voting points, including all 12 first-place votes. Robert Morris (Ill.) University (21-1) stayed at No. 2 while Southern Polytechnic State University (17-3) climbed two spots to No. 3.
The poll is voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each conference, the independents and unaffiliated groups. The next poll is scheduled to be announced on Monday, February 6.
