MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State junior Rees Macshara has been selected to the 2013 College Football Performance Awards All-Purpose Performer Watch List, while classmate Cyrus Strahm has been tabbed to the Kickoff Returner Watch List.
The lists recognize top Football Championship Subdivision players in each category.
Macshara, a running back from Danville, Ky., led the Eagles last season with 173 carries for 1,013 yards and six touchdowns.Â With a career-best 211 ground yards in the finale vs. Valparaiso, he became MSU's first 1,000-yard rusher since 2000.
Macshara, who earned 2012 First-Team All-Pioneer Football League honors, also pulled in 39 receptions for 307 yards and one score. His 1,320 all-purpose yards and 120 all-purpose yards per contest both ranked second at Morehead State.
Strahm, a slot from Carey, Ohio, returned 10 kickoffs last year for 265 yards.Â His 26.5 average paced the Eagles.Â He also registered an 83-yard kick return for a touchdown against Davidson, which marked one of MSU's three TD returns in 2012.
Strahm also notched 19 catches for 180 yards and two scores a year ago.
