LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The Kentucky baseball team kept its season alive with a 4-2 win over Kent State on Saturday.
The Wildcats were held scoreless through eight innings, but came through with four runs in the ninth. A.J. Reed hit a one-out double to score Max Kuhn and give UK its first run of the game. Thomas Bernal then connected on a 2-run double with the bases loaded in the 9th to give Kentucky its first lead at 3-2. Matt Reida finished the 9th with an RBI single to make it a 4-2 game.
Reed finished off the Golden Flashes in the 9th to pitch a complete game. The final out of the game coming on a double-play.
With the win, Kentucky advances to play Sunday at 12 pm against the loser of the Kansas-Louisville game.
