LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - No. 1 ranked Alabama comes into Commonwealth Stadium Saturday night a 27 point favorite over Kentucky.
After sharing the quarterback job with Max Smith for the first five weeks of the season, sophomore Jalen Whitlow established himself at the position last week against South Carolina.
Whitlow believes he's maturing in his second season at UK. "Just learning to prepare, just learning as I go." Whitlow said. "Coach Brown (Neal) taught me a lot about how to prepare, the teams, studying film, breaking down film and coming out here and executing it at practice."
"I think some of it was confidence." said coach Mark Stoops. "You could see he was a little bit uneasy and he's working his way through that. I've said many times it has to do with the players around him. You've got to have good players around him making plays."
Whitlow will be playing against the team from his home state. He grew up in Montgomery and helped Prattville win a state championship in high school.
Kentucky and Alabama will kickoff at 7:00 p.m. Saturday. The game will be televised by ESPN2
