LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky women’s basketball head coach Matthew Mitchell and his staff are excited to announce the dates and times for their inaugural satellite camp tour this summer where they will teach the game of basketball to the youth of the Bluegrass.

The tour will feature nine sessions in five cities, beginning with a pair of sessions in Georgetown (Scott County HS) on August 3. The camp tour will move to Owingsville (Bath County HS) for two sessions on August 4 before heading to Louisville (Mercy HS) for another two sessions on August 5. On August 6, the camp will be in Florence (Boone County HS) for two sessions and it will then conclude on August 7 in Somerset (Southwestern HS) for one session.

The camps, which will include instruction from the UK Hoops coaching staff, will allow participants to learn the game of basketball through a fundamental, intensive environment, and will introduce drills that can be used at home.

The camp is open to girls ranging from kindergarten to the 12th grade, and will help develop positive attitudes in the campers and allow them to gain confidence on and off the basketball court. In addition to learning the favorite pastime of the Bluegrass, each camper will receive a Kentucky basketball t-shirt, as well as opportunities for autographs and photos.
