LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The Kentucky football Wildcats are still searching for their first Southeastern Conference win when Vanderbilt rolls into Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday.

UK offensive line coach Mike Summers says the Wildcat offensive line has played well all season, despite playing with four different quarterbacks this year.

Coach Joker Phillips said UK's line play benefits from two seniors: Matt Smith at center and Larry Warford at guard.

Phillips says each week he pulls video clips from some of his team's best offensive plays and Smith and Warford usually are in each. Phillips says the other offensive linemen are benefiting, because they strive to make the cut, too.

"Larry is a really good football player," Phillips said, noting that both Warford and Smith will be in someones NFL camp. "I think it's rubbed off on some of those other guys up front."

When NFL scouts watch the Wildcats, usually they're there to see Warford.

"Larry is the first guy that everybody talks about," Phillips said. "He's a guy that's projected high. He's one of the two best guards in the country."

Warford played at Madison Central High School in Richmond. He has played in 44 career games, making 34 consecutive starts. Warford is on the Outland Trophy and Lombardi Watch Lists for the nation's best interior lineman.
