LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky's Taylor Wyndham is nearing the end of his football career. The senior from Swansea, South Carolina is in his fifth year in Lexington and for his final season hes taken on a different look.
Wyndham began growing a beard on the first day of fall camp and it's not coming off, even if the Cats win their first SEC game. The linebacker/defensive end says hes always admired Steelers defensive end Brent Keisel and he was inspired. Coach Joker Phillips says he likes it and it reminds him of someone. "I call him Wilson, because it reminds me of Tom Hanks in the Castaway."
Wyndham says the beard is no favorite of the ladies including his mother and it can get messy when he's eating. He has no plans to shave it off until the season is over, December 1.
