Rich Brooks announces retirement

Updated: 01/04/2010 - Kentucky coach Rich Brooks has announced that he is retiring after seven seasons coaching the Wildcats. Brooks made the announcement on Monday. He will be replaced by offensive head coach Joker Phillips, who agreed to become Brooks' eventual successor two years ago. "This is the end of the road of the old man's coaching career," Brooks said.

Cousins, a 6-11 forward from Mobile, Ala., averaged 16.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in leading the Wildcats to wins over Drexel and Long Beach State. Cousins had 33 points and 23 rebounds in only 27 minutes on the week.
