Noble's Promise "60-40" for Derby

Updated: 04/20/2010 - Noble's Promise put together a sharp workout, but trainer Ken McPeek says he's still unsure if the 3-year-old colt will run in the Kentucky Derby. Noble's Promise covered five furlongs in 59.80 seconds Tuesday at Churchill Downs, a move McPeek found encouraging. The horse is still dealing with a mild lung infection as well as cuts sustained during a fifth-place finish in the Arkansas Derby on April 10.

Updated: 04/19/2010 - Joker Phillips Evaluates Saturday Scrimmage: Following Monday morning’s practice, Coach Joker Phillips gave an update on his impressions of the scrimmage held Saturday. “I really think that the receivers are doing a great job catching the ball and making plays for us,” Phillips said. “The quarterbacks threw the ball a lot better Saturday but we have to get better protecting the quarterback. We just have to tackle on defense, which cost us getting ourselves getting off the field a few times.”

Louisville arena named KFC Yum! Center

Updated: 04/19/2010 - The company that owns KFC, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut will put its name on a new arena in Louisville under a 10-year, $13.5 million deal. The arena under construction will be called the KFC Yum! Center under the deal announced Monday. Yum Brands, which owns KFC and the other two chains, is headquartered in Louisville. The deal also gives Yum as many as eight concession outlets inside the arena for its food.
