Harper invited to U19 World Team Trials

Updated: 7:13 PM Kentucky women’s basketball signee Linnae Harper is one of 34 top athletes in the country age 19-years-old or younger, who have accepted invitations to participate in the 2013 USA Basketball U19 World Championship Team trials. Trials to select the 12-member USA squad will be held May 16-19 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. Invitations to the trials were issued by the USA Basketball Junior National Team Committee.

SEC announces launch of league network

Lillard named NBA Rookie of the Year

Updated: 7:50 PM Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers is the recipient of the Eddie Gottlieb Trophy as the 2012-13 Kia NBA Rookie of the Year, the NBA announced today. Lillard was a unanimous selection, having totaled 605 points as he received all 121 first-place votes from a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada. Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers was the last unanimous selection (2010-11).
