Franklin Co. is a scoring machine

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The Franklin Co. Flyers are scoring touchdowns in bunches. Through four games, the Flyers are averaging 66 points per game.

Chris Tracy's team has scored 38 times this season, only four of which are defensive scores. That's tops in the Commonwealth.

"We've got a lot of different weapons that we use and we know that anybody can score at any time," quarterback Logan Woodside said. "No. 5 is our biggest weapon."

No. 5 is senior Ryan Timmons, who's being heavily recruited by some of the biggest names in college football. The Mr. Football candidate leads the way with 13 touchdowns and has more than 600 yards of offense in limited action.

"We don't give our defense much of a break," Timmons said. "We've scored alot this year, but our defense will win us a championship."

Franklin Co. has been potent offensively since Tracy took over in 2010. In 25 games under his guidance, the Flyers have scored 34 or more points in 21 games.

"You've got your typical coaching stuff you've got to do, but once the play is called, I kind of stand back and watch," he said. "I won't say it's poetry in motion, but it's pretty good."
