LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – The annual Kentucky-Indiana All-Star series is the oldest of its kind, and on Wednesday, it was announced the boys/girls doubleheader would return to Lexington in June.
Terry Johnson, the executive director of the Bluegrass Sports Commission, made the announcement on WKYT-TV.
Johnson said the games would be played at Transylvania University’s Beck Center on June 13.
“We’ve come to an agreement with the Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation to bring the Kentucky-Indiana All-Star games to Lexington for the next three years,” Johnson said.
WKYT-TV will partner with the commission and televise the games.
“We’re bringing it back to Transy because it’s about time it comes back to Lexington,” Johnson said. “Since 1940, it’s only been here five times.”
Johnson also said that the finalists for Kentucky’s Mister and Miss Basketball would be announced Wednesday night at the annual Bluegrass Sports Commission Awards Dinner.
The winner of Kentucky’s premier high school basketball awards will be announced during the Boys’ Sweet 16 at Rupp Arena.
