Anderson County blasts Meade County 75-51

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - Anderson County used a 33-9 run that stretched into the opening minutes of the second half to cruise to a 75-51 victory over Meade County on Thursday in the first round of the KHSAA Girls' Sweet 16.

Eriel McKee recorded a double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds for the Region 8 champions, which will play Elizabethtown in the second round on Friday in Diddle Arena.

Makenzie Cann scored 24 points and registered five rebounds, two blocks and three steals for Anderson County (28-4).

The Lady Bearcats forced Meade County into 14 turnovers while holding the Lady Waves to 38.5 percent shooting.

Addi Lynch had 15 points and six rebounds for the Region 3 champion Lady Waves (16-16), who defeated No. 4 Simon Kenton to advance to the Sweet 16.

Morgan Turner scored 12 points for Meade County and Raley Johnson had 11.
