Posted: 03/14/2013 - Westmont (Calif.) held off a late threat by Cumberlands (Ky.), 63-58, Thursday to advance to the second round of the 2013 NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Championships. The Warriors (26-4) bounced back into the win column after having a 17-game win streak snapped last week in the Golden State Athletic Conference title game. It was only the second meeting between the two programs, with Westmont also winning the previous bought during the 2004 NAIA DI opening round.
