Phillips: 3rd quarter was "horrendous"

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky's record might be perfect after
the Wildcats beat Louisville in the season-opener last Saturday,
but coach Joker Phillips says his team has plenty of work to do.

Phillips called his team's play in the third quarter against the
Cardinals "horrendous." The Wildcats were in control at the half
but allowed the Cardinals to stick around by struggling with
penalties.

Kentucky was flagged 11 times for 90 yards, which Phillips
called "Kentucky beating Kentucky."

The Wildcats hope to iron out some of the wrinkles on Saturday
when they face Western Kentucky (0-1). The Hilltoppers enter the
contest with a 21-game losing streak, the longest in the country.

Phillips said the Hilltoppers have talent, however, and Kentucky
must be wary or it could fall victim to the upset.
