Coach Cal uses Skype to thank Kentucky soldiers serving overseas

Thanks to Skype, UK Basketball Coach John Calipari got to talk to some of his biggest fans today, who are half a world away.

Coach Cal, UK freshman Anthony Davis, and Governor Steve Beshear all talked to members of the Kentucky National Guard's 1204th Aviation Support Battalion Monday.

The soldiers in that battalion are stationed in Kuwait.

Coach Cal said he wanted to tell the soldiers "thank you."

"I tell you, we're so proud of all of you over there, and what you do, and the courage you have," Calipari said. "I can't begin to tell you how impressed (I am) in what you do, and not everybody can do it."

During Monday's conversation, Coach Cal also received a plaque, which named him an honorary Kentucky National Guardsman.
