Micah Makes It Official, He's Staying For Senior Season

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky linebacker Micah Johnson will
return to the Wildcats for his senior season rather than enter the
2009 NFL Draft.
Johnson said NFL evaluators ranked Johnson a third, fourth or
fifth round selection. Johnson said that information and the hope
that the Wildcats can make it to four straight bowl games next
season led to his decision to come back.
Johnson had 93 tackles, including a team-high 13
tackles-for-loss and 2.5 sacks to help the Wildcats to a 7-6 season
and their third consecutive bowl victory. He was one of three
Wildcats named to the All-SEC First Team, joining cornerback
Trevard Lindley and punter Tim Masthay.
Johnson was named Kentucky's Mr. Football following his senior
year at Fort Campbell High in 2005. He has blossomed under
defensive coordinator Steve Brown and helped the Wildcats become
one of the better defenses in the SEC.
