LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky women’s basketball coach Matthew Mitchell confirmed Friday afternoon that junior Brittany Edelen has been released from her scholarship. Edelen spent three years on campus as a member of the women’s basketball team.
“We appreciate Brittany’s contributions to the Wildcat program,” Mitchell said. “We wish her the best as she pursues her future both academically and athletically.”
Edelen, a junior from Springfield, Ky., has one year of NCAA eligibility remaining.
Edelen averaged 2.6 points and 1.9 rebounds during her three years at Kentucky. She played in 30 games for the Wildcats last season, starting six games, and scored 3.2 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.
