Wall anxious to hook up with Heels

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky freshman star John Wall says he's
not angry he never received a scholarship offer from North Carolina
even though he grew up hoping to play for the Tar Heels.
The Raleigh, N.C., native says he spoke to North Carolina coach
Roy Williams before the Tar Heels played in last year's national
championship and that Williams told him he'd call back following
the season. Wall says he never heard from the coach again.
The point guard eventually chose Kentucky, where he's averaging
18.5 points and 7.8 assists per game for the fifth-ranked Wildcats
(7-0).
Wall is anxious to play the 10th-ranked Tar Heels (7-1) on
Saturday at Rupp Arena, but he's not looking to show Williams what
he missed. Instead, Wall said he's simply hoping to help the
Wildcats pass their first major test of the season.
