The New Jersey Nets announced this morning the signing of free agent guard Keith Bogans. Terms of Bogans' contract were not made public by the Nets.
"Keith will give us defensive toughness and experience,” Nets general manager Billy King said in a statement released by the team to announce the signing. “He will add depth and versatility to our perimeter."
Bogans' eight-year career has been spread across six teams, most recently with the Chicago Bulls where he started every game during the 2010-11 season. He averaged 4.4 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game, seeing just 17.8 minutes per game despite his starting role. In the postseason, when Bogans started 16 more times, he led the NBA with a 42.4 shooting percentage from beyond the 3-point line.
