LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Coach John Calipari says he is happy, happy to be coaching basketball. Calipari returned from the recruiting trail over the weekend and talked about his team's first practice.

In a message on his website CoachCal.com, Calipari reached for his glasses to go over his notes and reviewed what he told his players. "To be the best version of us, the best version of you and us, develop a love of learning, be curious. Continuous growth, you've got to keep improving skill sets. Compete on every possession and drill. Attack, more back to the dribble drive. Humbly succeed, be humble yet hungry, grace in the face of adversity." Calipari said that's what he's zeroing in on for each individual player

Right now practice is only two hours per week. Teams cannot go the full 20 hours until September 27.
