LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - John Calipari took to twitter Friday, telling fans what he expects when his team reaches the end of the season.

"At the end of the year, this team should be a lethal offensive team, a smothering defensive team and a 70 percent free throw shooting team." said Calipari. "That's what we should be, we're not right now but we're working on it. If you know the mental picture I have of this team, you know it's not going to happen overnight. Enjoy the path!"

Earlier in the day, Calipari said he was giving his players the day off. The first break for the Cats since the returned on Christmas day.
"So today, we are going to have an 'off' day. No contact, no scrimmaging. For one hour, we will script offensive and defensive schemes. They derserve a day off. I'm proud of the progress. They're learning to deal with the grind of becoming a better team and a better player."

UK returns to action against Mississippi State next Wednesday night. Tipoff will be at 8:00 p.m. on WKYT.
