Calipari praises Poythress

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - UK coach John Calipari laid some heavy praise on sophomore Alex Poythress before Thursday's practice.

"I'll tell you whos been off the chain has been Alex." said Calipari. Alex was as good as I've ever seen him, anywhere at anytime in yesterday's practice. Because not only did he play, he sustained. Normally he makes one play and then for the next three minutes 'I'm done,' but hes always been that way."

Calipari said sustaining effort has always been the hard thing for Poythress and the effort Wednesday amazed him. "Yesterday's practice was like, he went from good, to really good, to great yesterday, and I was like amazed."

Kentucky returns to action Saturday afternoon in Rupp Arena against Belmont. Tipoff will be at Noon on ESPNU.
