Cats, Cards talk Governor's Cup

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - University of Kentucky football coach
Joker Phillips and his University of Louisville counterpart,
Charlie Strong, are starting off two days of previews for
September's annual Governor's Cup game.
Strong told reporters at a Thursday news conference in Lexington
that the Cardinals' chief weakness is inexperience. He said he
found a statistic that ranked the Cardinals No. 119 out of 120
teams in the Football Bowl Subdivision in the experience category.
Phillips says the Wildcats have their own weaknesses. They must
replace their top producers at running back, quarterback, wide
receiver, and kick and punt returner.
Strong and Phillips are both in their second year as head
coaches at the schools, and Kentucky won last year's meeting,
23-16, in Louisville. This year's game, the third game of the year
for both schools, is Sept. 17 in Lexington.
