Cats get trio of commitments

UK football coach Joker Phillips picked up a trio of commitments on Tuesday, according to various recruiting web sites.

Jody Demling, of the Louisville Courier-Journal, is reporting Myrtle Beach offensive tackle T.J. Jones has committed to the Wildcats. Jones stands 6-foot-5, 280. He chose the Cats over East Carolina.

Jeff Drummond, of Kentucky.247.com, says Phillips has picked up two verbal commitments from Louisville. Seneca defensive tackle Tyrone Pearson and Jeffersontown’s Daniel Ross are headed to Lexington with the Class of 2012.

Pearson is 6-foot-3, 285 and picks the Cats over Central Florida and Louisville.

Ross, a tight end and defensive end, is 6-foot-5, 240. He also had an offer from Central Florida.

Phillips has received five offensive line commitments for the Class of 2012, 15 overall.
