Clemons scoped, could miss Louisville game

Updated: Wed 9:49 AM, Aug 22, 2012

Lexington, KY (WKYT) - UK tailback Josh Clemons is doubtful for the Wildcats' season opener at Louisville.

Coach Joker Phillips revealed today that Clemons underwent an arthroscopic procedure Tuesday morning. Clemons had been experiencing continued swelling in his surgically repaired right knee, despite an MRI last week that revealed the knee had been repaired.

Clemons suffered a torn meniscus last season and underwent surgery to fix the knee. He was limited in UK's spring and fall workouts this year.

Phillips said that Tuesday's procedure was exploratory in nature and loose particles were discovered. He said the knee "had been cleaned up."

The coach also said Clemons would be "right at that 10-day window," when asked about whether the player would be ready for the Louisville game.
