LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The NBA returned to Rupp Arena Saturday night and the New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Washington Wizards 93-89 in an exhibition game.
Former Wildcat Anthony Davis scored 16 points for the Pelicans and pulled down four rebounds. Davis blocked two shots, the second on Washington's Bradley Beal to help preserve the victory.
John Wall returned to Rupp Arena and finished with a double-double for the Wizards, 16 points and 11 assists. Beal led Washington with 30 points. Jrue Holiday was the top scorer for the Pelicans with 19.
Former Wildcat Darius Miller could not play for the Pelicans because of a stress fracture. New Orleans remains unbeaten at 6-0 in exhibition play. The Wizards saw their record drop to 1-4.
