RENO, Nev. (AP) - Reno Aces outfielder Collin Cowgill has been
named the 2011 Pacific Coast League Topps Player of the Year.
The former University of Kentucky star played his last 36 games
of the season with the Arizona Diamondbacks, hitting .239 with a
home run, nine RBI and four stolen bases.
Before he was promoted to the big leagues in July, Cowgill
helped lead Reno to its first division title, batting .354 with 13
homers and 70 RBIs. The speedy center fielder was caught stealing
only three times in 33 attempts.
Reno infielder Cody Ransom joined Cowgill on the 2011 PCL
all-star team.
