Ex-Wildcat Johnson, Bills exchange contract offers

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) - A person familiar with discussions has told The Associated Press that the Buffalo Bills and potential free-agent receiver Stevie Johnson have exchanged contract offers and plan to meet again at the NFL combine in Indianapolis next week.

The Buffalo News first reported the development, citing an unnamed league source, on its website on Thursday.

The person spoke to the AP on the condition of anonymity because negotiations are not being made public.

The exchange of offers is the first indication that contract talks have resumed since the two sides broke off discussions in December.

In completing the final year of his contract, Johnson led the Bills in receiving for a second straight season with 76 catches for 1,004 yards and seven touchdowns.
