LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A former UK basketball player appeared before a Fayette County judge on Friday morning.

Michael Porter went to court for a status hearing. In the courtroom, Porter requested that he be allowed to remove his ankle monitoring bracelet in order to get a job.

The judge agreed since Porter has so far followed all of his requirements since bonding out of jail.

It was back in May when police arrested Porter for sex abuse and sodomy on allegations that he had oral sex with a girl. Lexington Police say, he met the girl at a church function while working as a youth group leader at Southland Christian Church.

Investigators say the victim was 14 and 15 years old at the time of the alleged incidents.

During today's hearing, the judge told Porter he is to have no contact with victim, must avoid Lexington Christian Academy (LCA, and Southland Christian Church.

The former wildcat played ninety games over three years at UK averaging 2.7 points. He played one year for tubby smith and two for Billy Gillispie.
