There have been some brilliant podium performances in Birmingham already at the SEC Football Media Days event, but there were few surprises when it came to the media's voting on how the teams will finish in confernece play.
The attending journalists voted LSU a runaway winner to take the SEC West, as well as a second consecutive conference championship. The Tigers 129 points in the voting formula to just 65 for Alabama. South Carolina, the defending SEC East winner, was a distant third, with six points, even though Georgia was picked to win the division.
Kentucky was predicted to finish last in the SEC East.
Here is how the voting went for the East:
2. South Carolina
In the West:
5. Texas A&M
6. Mississippi State
Offensive guard Larry Warford was the only Wildcat represented on the media's pre-season all-conference team. The senior from Richmond, Ky., was named to the second unit.
