Randle on the midseason Wooden Award List

LEXINGTON, Ky (WKYT) - University of Kentucky freshman forward Julius Randle has been named to the Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 list. The Wooden Award is given annually to college basketball’s player of the year.

Randle is leading the Wildcats in averaging a double-double, scoring at a clip of 16.7 points per game and 10.6 rebounds. UK teammates James Young and Andrew Harrison were named to the preseason Wooden Award Watch List, but did not make the mid-season cut.

The next cut comes March 8 when 15 finalists are named with the award given during the Final Four in Dallas.
