LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Former UK forward Julius Randle conducted a private workout on Friday with the Celtics, in preparation for the upcoming NBA Draft.
Questions surfaced this week about an old injury to Randle’s foot. Several NBA insiders Tweeted that Randle was facing surgery after the draft.
Randle took to Twitter to refute the rumors.
After his workout in Boston, Randle said he was fine.
“My foot is fine,” he told reporters. “Everyone has their opinion on what they should do, but I’m pain free.”
Randle is considered a lottery pick in the draft. Boston has two first-round picks: No. 6 and No. 17.
When asked if he’s planning to undergo surgery, Randle said he wasn’t.
“It’s never been considered. I’ve met with my own doctor and talked to specialists, some of the best doctors in the world. They said they wouldn’t do anything with it. I’m fine.”
When asked where the rumors came from, Randle said people find ways to dig up information.
“I don’t know,” he said. “I have no clue.”
