LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - She thought she was just going to Rupp Arena to donate blood, but a central Kentucky woman received quite a gift.

Amanda Semler's boyfriend, Brian Lewis, proposed to her at mid-court Monday afternoon, and she said yes. The couple, from Richmond, gave blood today as part of the Kentucky Blood Center's Rupp Arena blood drive.

We asked Semler if she was surprised.

"Yes, very. We were kind of joking about it the other day, but I really never thought he would do it," says Semler.

"It's a small dream of mine to come here, since I'm a big fan of the team, to be able to do it, I can't thank the Kentucky Blood Center enough for allowing me to do so, and be able to get a yes, shoot a shot, then go save some lives, donate some blood," Brian Lewis, told us.

Lewis said he originally wanted to propose at Rupp Arena during a UK game, but says he couldn't make that happen, so this was the next best thing.
