LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Mark Stoops came off the practice field Wednesday afternoon unhappy. "Very unacceptable practice today, just very frustrating." said Stoops. "Preparation wasn't good enough, effort wasn't good enough, attitude wasn't good enough, so not good. Some guys looking for a rock to hide under."
The Cats are preparing to play South Carolina Saturday night in their first SEC road game. "It's not o.k." Stoops said. " We're here to get better every day and reach the most potential we have and if we do that I'm o.k. with it, if we don't I'm not. The way it looks right now we're heading in the wrong direction. "It's going to be a very difficult and tough game and I don't know if we're ready for it."
Stoops praised his players' effort in Saturday's loss to Florida but not Wednesday. "It was everything today. Again, we'll get it corrected, we'll coach them hard and see if we can get more out of them tomorrow and get this thing turned around. Because as of right now, whatever it was, 21 point spread, it ain't enough. We ain't even close to that right now."
Kentucky and South Carolina kickoff at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night in Columbia. The game is televised by Fox Sports Net
