The Chicago Tribune is reporting that former Wildcat Marquis Teagues has signed a contract with the Bulls.
The Tribune says Teague will travel from his hometown of Indianapolis to Chicago to begin workouts with the team.
“It feels good to finally get it out of the way,” Teague said in a phone interview. “I just want to get in the gym and start working out.”
Teague was the last first-round pick to sign his deal, which are typically formalities because of slotted contracts depending on draft selections. However, it’s standard practice in the NBA for first-round picks to receive 120 percent of the slotted amount.
