Patrick Towles update

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - UK quarterback Patrick Towles practiced for the second straight day. Coach Joker Phillips said he didn't look as good but he moved better as he returns from a high ankle sprain.

Phillips indicated Towles will play against Missouri Saturday but Phillips thought he looked better in Tuesday's practice. "I thought he looked better yesterday as far as his control of the ball and command and all of those things. His first reps that hes gotten yesterday and today in a long time, so we'll throw him out thee and see how he looks.

Phillips said the plan would be the same as Mississippi State with both Towles and freshman Jalen Whitlow seeing action. He said Towles moved better Wednesday after removing an air cast. "He actually moved around a lot better today than he did yesterday. I think the cast might have limted him a little, his mobility in his ankle."

Phillips said cornerback/safety Martavious Neloms should be able to go Saturday, while safety Mike Benton did more. Offensive guard Zack West did not practice.
