Transy dinner raises over $50,000

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky and Transylvania meet in an exhibition game Friday night in Rupp Arena. A fund raising dinner on the eve of the game raised more than $50,000 for Transy athletics.

Hundreds of Transy alums and supporters of both programs filled the Beck Center on the Transylvania campus. The two Lexington schools will be playing an exhibition game for the third consecutive year.

Earlier in the day, UK coach John Calipari tweeted that sophomore forward Alex Poythress had a great practice Thursday and will be in the lineup Friday night. Calipari said freshman point guard Andrew Harrison is sidelined with a bruised bone in his knee.

Pregame coverage of UK-Transy will begin at 6:30 p.m. on WKYT. Tipoff is at seven o'clock.
