UK Holding NBA Combine

The Joe Craft Center had a pro feel to it on Monday afternoon as around 20 NBA teams arrived on UK's campus to put four UK players through workouts over the next two days.....

"We are all a little nervous, i want them to do well, told them better be in shape, guys will show some things, no body to body contact, it's a showcase if you will, showcase how you shoot it, your speed, your size, your athleticism, according to Coach Calipari"

UK's head coach put this Combine together in a short period of time and is impressed wtih who is in attendance.

"Calipari said, "to have half the GM's and half of the player of personel directors your talking about the guys who make the decisions, they're not just scouts, decision makers"

Due to the May 8th deadline Coach Calipari didn't know of any other way of getting these kids the information they need, since they didn't have time to work out for 3 or 4 teams and when push comes to shove all parties need to know what's out there and what's not

"they are not going to lie to us or me",Coach Calipari said, " cause they want to be welcome here, they want to be welcome in Rupp, so they will tell the truth, can't give us exact stuff, some of them may tell them they need to go back to college."

This will be the only time Brandon Knight and Terrence Jones can work out for NBA teams, Josh Harrellson and DeAndre Liggins will head to New Jersey for workouts this weekend.
