Fans invited to watch selection show with UK women

Posted: 03/12/2014 - The No. 10/11 Kentucky women’s basketball team will host a NCAA Selection Show Party on Monday, March 17 in Memorial Coliseum. Fans are welcome to join head coach Matthew Mitchell and his Wildcats as they await their seeding for their 11th NCAA Tournament berth, including school-record fifth in a row. The program will be shown live on the big screen and doors will open to the general public at 6 p.m. ET with the selection show airing on ESPN at 7 p.m. ET.

Randle receives all-region honors

Randle is the only freshman selected to his region’s squad that encompasses the states of Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.

Posted: 03/11/2014 - Kentucky forward Julius Randle was named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year by the league’s coaches on Tuesday, leading a number of honors for the Wildcats for their play during the 2013-14 season. Randle was tabbed to the All-SEC First Team, while classmate James Young earned second team honors. Both players were also selected to the All-SEC Freshman team. Sophomore Willie Cauley-Stein earned All-SEC Defensive team accolades.
