I am honored and grateful to be a part of the WKYT team and to call Lexington my new home.

I became curious and inquisitive about the world of news at an early age. I have always been intrigued by the storytelling and fascinated by the intensity of a news reporter’s role. Years later, not much has changed. My passion for journalism and great interest in helping the community only continues to grow.

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, I graduated from the University of Houston with a B.A in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Spanish. The outstanding School of Communication at U of H and my internship at KPRC, helped me gain valuable experience. I am also fluent in Spanish and am proud of my Mexican roots.

I have enjoyed every bit of my learning experiences and have quickly realized I'm in the right field. I love the dynamics of this career, meeting interesting people from all walks of life, and never knowing what’s going to happen next. It’s an everyday adventure and I’m lovin’ it!

News aside, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends. I’m a huge sports fan and enjoy the great outdoors. I love to travel, and my ideal vacation consists of visiting exotic places and spending time with relatives in Mexico, California, and Colorado. I have an addiction called shopping, and I am absolutely in love with chocolate and walnut fudge brownies.
