Brittany Pelletz joined the WKYT news team in October 2011. After three years anchoring and reporting for the NBC affiliate KRBC in Abilene, Texas she was thrilled to have the opportunity to continue her passion for news in Lexington, Kentucky.
From a young age, Brittany knew that she wanted a career in television news. She used to read her homework out loud to her parents, friends, or anyone that would listen. She also enjoyed writing fiction stories in her spare time. It made perfect sense to tell the real life stories of people and make a living out of it.
Brittany is used to moving around the country. She has lived in several states including Massachusetts, Florida, Arizona, California, and Texas. She is an adventurous person. She loves to learn new things, try new foods, and meet new people.
When she is not working, Brittany likes to spend time with her fiancé, family, and friends. She also enjoys exercising, traveling, going shopping, writing, taking pictures, and relaxing on the beach.
Brittany also enjoys volunteering. She has been part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters non-profit organization for the past three years. She also has been coaching youth cheerleading in her spare time. After settling into her new home in Lexington, she plans on finding area cheerleading squads to help out.
