Everyone told me leaving home would be hard, but moving to Lexington to work for WKYT is one of the best career decisions I’ve ever made. Believe it or not, this is the first time I’ve worked for a television station
outside the Tennessee state lines.

I grew up in Columbia, Tennessee, a small town about thirty minutes south of Nashville. After graduating from Columbia Central High School, I packed up my bags and attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. A career in sports broadcasting wasn't on the agenda at that time. Right before my junior year started, I changed my major and devoted a lot of my time learning the business.

During my senior year, I worked at WBIR in Knoxville as a weekend tape editor and then to finish college I moved back to Nashville to do a summer long internship with WSMV. When that ended I flew to Sydney, Australia, for the 2000 summer Olympic Games to intern for NBC. While I was over in Australia, I received my first job offer and two days after returning to the states I started work at WBBJ in Jackson, Tennessee. A year and half went by working ridiculous hours and covering every high school sport imaginable.

Then I returned to Knoxville to work for WKYT's sister station WVLT. It was a dream come true returning to my alma mater to cover the Vols. I spent three years working for the largest sports department in the state and enjoyed every minute of it.

My next stop was in Nashville, where I freelanced for WTVF on two different occasions. I also worked at WKRN. During my time at WKRN, I had the opportunity to cover all the local teams and colleges, as well as the Tennessee Titans and Nashville Predators. One of the best experiences was being apart of two shows: “Sunday Sports Extra” and “Titans on 2 with Jeff Fisher.”

I'm excited about using my past experiences to give Big Blue fans everything they could possibly want when it comes to Kentucky athletics and all the local teams in our area. When I’m not working (which is always) you can find me checking out the local golf courses, working out or my favorite ... watching movies.
